2026 Night of Reading at EFAD: A Magical Evening Blending City and Countryside!

The 2026 Night of Reading took place this Thursday, and it was, once again, a wonderful evening for our community! Despite the threat of rain, young and old alike happily gathered to enjoy reading, sharing, and great stories.
This year, the event featured a rich and inspiring theme: “Cities and the Countryside.”
In preschool (Covarrubias 46): wonder and a show
At Covarrubias 46, the kindergarten students enjoyed a beautiful and captivating performance by the Ohtli troupe, based on the picture book *Érase una vez una jaula*. It was a truly magical moment for our youngest readers!
At Veramendi 32: The Joy of Sharing Stories
At Veramendi 32, elementary and middle school students were able to attend the traditional public readings. This year, the number of volunteer readers has literally skyrocketed, and we’re thrilled!
In addition to the warm support of parents and grandparents, teachers and EFAD alumni also pitched in to share their love of books with the youngest students.
Activities for Everyone
The evening also featured a variety of fun and artistic workshops:
- Exciting parts of the game Dixit;
- A big drawing contest inspired by this year's theme;
- A variety of creative games that sparked everyone's imagination.
To cap off this celebration, the evening culminated in the ever-captivating performance by Norma Torres, a storyteller who has become a tradition and a must-see at our Night of Reading!
A big thank you to the APIS organizing committee and to the parents who played a major role in making this evening a success. The dedication of the EFAD teaching and administrative staff also deserves recognition: everyone’s involvement makes all the difference!
